Dasha

A dasha is a planetary period in Vedic astrology: a stretch of life ruled by a particular planet, during which its themes come to the fore. The most common scheme, the Vimshottari dasha, divides a 120-year cycle among the planets, timed from the Moon's birth nakshatra — a predictive tool the West never had.
