Decan

A decan is a 10° subdivision of a zodiac sign — three per sign, thirty-six in all. The idea began in ancient Egypt, where thirty-six star-groups rose in sequence to divide the night into hours; it was later folded into the Greek zodiac as a finer layer of meaning within each sign.
